This week is the last of the youth concentrations that the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) organizes in the High Performance Center (CAR) of Sant Cugat, in Barcelona, for which they have been called players of category Sub’15. The work sessions include new activities that were already implemented in the previous weeks.
The group is made up of the Guipuzcoan Ane Mintegui, the Alicante and player of the Ferrer Tennis Academy Lucía Llinares, the Malaga María Berlanga, the Almeria Mª Dolores López Martínez and Encarnación García Ávila, the Barcelonian Claudia de las Heras, the Madrid-born Lidia González García and the Valencian Raquel González Vilar.
The young athletes will have the opportunity to learn about nutrition, psychology, regulation and doping with the organized talks.
As a novelty, the players concentrated this week will conduct personal interviews with the sports psychologist of CAR Josep Font, and will attend lectures on nutrition with Dr. Saioa Segura, on doping with Esther Martínez and regulations with the international referee Jaume Campistol.
These activities are added to the technical program that includes various physical tests (joint mobility, muscle strength and endurance, power, agility and speed, coordination and specific resistance), as well as medical controls and technical analysis through video recordings
The technicians that accompany them are: Francisco Lacoba and Isaac Grau (Tennis Federation of the Valencian Community), Esteban Tapia (Andalusian Tennis Federation), Óscar Mas (Federació Catalana de Tennis), Eduardo Urgell (Tennis Federation of Madrid) and Pipo Maresma (Basque Tennis Federation).
