Double win for the U-16 boys’ and girls’ Spanish National Team.
The two national teams have managed to qualify for the Winter Cup finals after having exceeded their respective commitments during the qualifying phase.The boys’ team, made up of Carlos Alcaráz, Pablo Llamas and Mario González defeated Belgium and Poland 3-0 and France 2-1, where the Ferrer Tennis Academy player Pablo Llamas and Carlos Alcaráz defeated the three selections in the doubles.
The Group A Qualification Phase took place in Cholet (France) from February 2 to 4, where the teams from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal and Spain concentrated to qualify for the final stage which will take place in Ronchin (France) from February 16 to 18. Both teams, Spain and France are classified from group A and will face the other qualified teams of groups B, C and D Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Russia, Spain Ukraine.
For its part, the Spanish girls’ team qualified as second in Group C with Ukrania, with whom they lost in the final 3-0. In the first day, Spain defeated Great Britain by 2-1 and in the second day, Jessica Bouzas, player of the Ferrer Tennis Academy and Leyre Romero won in the decisive point in the modality of doubles against Italy that served for the classification to the final draw that will take place in Kazan, Russia from February 16 to 18.
The remaining classified teams are Austria and France of group A, Czech Republic and Germany of group B and to close the table, Belarus and Russia of group D.
